New Plan Helps Free-up Cash Flow for Business Owners

With this new "Pay As You Go" pay plan option, the business pays its workers compensation premium in conjunction with its payroll cycle (12, 24, 26 or 52 pay periods per year). The workers compensation premium installments are based on the amount of actual payroll each pay period, making this a very friendly cash flow structure for any business with season fluctuations in payroll.

Additionally, for the business owners, budgeting and forecasting can be more easily managed and cash flow is better maintained through the year. This is especially beneficial for business owners in today's economy.

Latest Federal Regulations Offer Tax Benefits to Eligible Small Businesses and Extended  Coverage to Applicable Families

Newton, NJ –­ The Mitchell Insurance Agency of Newton, NJ, a full-service independent agency offering personal, commercial and special package insurance, has experts available to discuss the many tax benefits now available to small businesses due to changes in healthcare.

Due to recent government regulations, certain small businesses will be able to take a 35% tax credit (for the year 2010) for the portion of health insurance premiums that are paid by the company. To be eligible, businesses must have less than 25 employees and pay an average wage for the employees of less than $50,000 per year. In the year 2014, the credit will increase to 50%.

For some small businesses, this could mean thousands of dollars in tax credit to directly reduce their tax liability. For example, a company that paid $50,000 in healthcare premiums for their employees in 2010 could earn up to $17,500  in tax credit if they meet the eligibility requirements.

Separately, effective September 23, 2010, new federal legislation will allow previously-covered individuals under the age of 26 to remain on their parents’ health insurance policies and receive full coverage. The new legislation will also allow dependent children up to age 26 who are currently uninsured to be added to the their parents coverage. Some carriers are actually allowing this change to take effect sooner, but it is legally mandatory as of September 23rd. This is a much needed offering that will bring relief to many families – particularly those with recent college graduates who haven’t been able to secure insurance through an employer due to today’s formidable job market.

Challenger Superstars Little League Team

Local Challenger Division Established for Special Needs Children

Newton, NJ –­ The Mitchell Insurance Agency of Newton, NJ, a full-service independent agency offering personal, commercial and special package insurance, is giving back to the community by sponsoring the “Superstars,” a special needs little league baseball team in Sparta, NJ.

The Challenger Division was established nationally in 1989 as a division of Little League Baseball to enable boys and girls with mental and physical challenges, ages 5 to 18 (or whenever the child completes high school) to participate in the sport.

After reading about the league in 2009, Mark Unglaub, Account Manager at the Mitchell Agency, and son, Austin, a Little League player and lover of baseball, started a local Challenger League in Sparta.
